Electric cooperatives are facing many legislative challenges that will affect the future of the Cooperative and the rates paid by members.
One way members can help is by getting involved and making their voice heard. There are many resources available to help members become educated and stay informed about the issues.
Political action committees (or PACs) are an easy way for cooperative members to become involved in the political process. PACs allow ordinary citizens to pool their small contributions to make a meaningful donation to legislative candidates who support their point of view.
That is precisely what our federal America's Electric Cooperatives PAC and state Rural Electric Political Action Committee (REPAC) do.
The Minnesota Rural Electric Association also serves as resources to our members, providing education on political issues important to electrical cooperative members.
